And the home fans had the stadium blaring with noise in typical European night fashion.

But it was the away fans that took the headlines as they sparked a pyro display during the first 45 minutes.

Around 2, 000 supporters made the trip to Glasgow to see their side at Parkhead, looking for their first points of the campaign.

But their European season could get worse as they RISK punishment from UEFA for their use of the fireworks.

And it’s unwanted attention for Celtic who have been warned themselves in recent times.

The governing body has been stern on their fireworks warnings and previously threatened an away fan BAN for Hoops fans for using flares at Dortmund.

Should fans use fireworks at a match within the next two years, a ban could well be in place for Hoops supporters at away games.

At the time, a Celtic statement said: “The club has received the decision issued by the Uefa Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body following the match against Borussia Dortmund, in which the club has been sanctioned, again, for the lighting of fireworks by a small number of individuals attending the match.

“The decision provides that, not only has the club received a fine of €20,000, but also that, if such behaviour is repeated at a match in the next two years, the club will be prevented from selling tickets to supporters for one away match in Uefa club competitions.

“The club has been very clear, over a number of years, that the use of fireworks and pyrotechnics at matches is prohibited, and presents risks to supporter safety and to the club under the applicable regulations.

“It is hugely disappointing, therefore, that the conduct of a very small minority has led to this decision, which could potentially have such a negative and damaging impact on the team and Celtic supporters wishing to attend an away match to support the team.”

Young Boys will likely be fined and punished for their fans’ behaviour, but Celtic will feel irked by the use of the pyro from the away fans inside their stadium after UEFA’s warning to the club.
