However there are NO Scots included in the 25-man panel of ex-pros.

Larsson is joined by another ex-Hoops striker on the elite list – Robbie Keane, who will join the group for their first meeting on Monday.

And among the top level managers invited such as Jose Mourinho, Fabio Cappello and Carlo Ancelotti is former Motherwell midfielder Roberto Martinez– now in charge of Portugal.

And though there is no SFA representation, Mourinho, of course, is a graduate of the renowned coaching course at Largs.

Board members were selected ‘based on their outstanding club or national team football achievements, impeccable international reputation and extensive experience’.

The collective will form an advisory panel and meet at least once a year to discuss football matters.

Top of the agenda in Switzerland this week is refereeing matters, like VAR, handball and player behaviour, and the Uefa line of intervention.

They will also discuss competition and medical football matters.

Zvonimir Boban will chair the meeting which will also include England boss Gaareth Southgate and ex-Man Utd defender Rio Ferdinand.

Governing body President Alesander Ceferin said: “Uefa is delighted to see that the very ones who have shaped the game’s history with their talents and philosophy through decades are gathered again around our common goal – to protect the game of football and its essential values.”

Zinedine Zidane, Jurgen Klinsmann and Michael Laudrup are also on the panel, as are Luis Figo, Patrick Vieira and Gareth Bale.

Meanwhile Bayern Munich legend Thorsten Fink has declared an interest in the vacant manager’s job at Hearts.

The German icon has worked with Andres Iniesta and Kyogo Furuhashi in Japan and is keen to follow the striker from the J-League to Scotland, according to reports.

His representatives have made contact with Tynecastle officials about replacing Robbie Neilson.
