CELTIC fans have unveiled a banner hitting out at their recent fine from Uefa for an anti-monarchy display last month.
The Hoops were fined £13,000 by European football’s governing body earlier today after supporters produced a “F*** the Crown” banner during the Champions League tie against Shakhtar Donetsk, which was the first game played in the aftermath of the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
The banner unveiled by Celtic fans at tonight’s UCL game against RB Leipzig[/caption]Uefa deemed the banner to be provocative and a “message not fit for a sporting event”.
Hoops fans were slammed by sections of the media too and pundits like Simon Jordan labelled the display “ridiculous and insulting”.
But a section of the Celtic support returned with another display tonight against RB Leipzig which read: “Against hunger and the Crown”.
The Green Brigade supporters group had already announced their latest food drive appeal before the match at Parkhead.
Celtic fans also honoured the Scot who was killed in a horror explosion on Donegal with a minute’s silence ahead of the Leipzig game.
On the pitch, Ange Postecoglou’s men were made to rue a series of missed chances as RB Leipzig delivered a Champions League knockout blow.
Timo Werner opened the scoring in the 75th minute after the likes of Daizen Maeda and Kyogo Furuhashi had squandered glaring opportunities to score.
Giorgos Giakoumakis and Aaron Mooy also messed up in front of goal before Emil Forsberg sealed the deal for the Bundesliga side.

The result means Celtic are OUT of the Champions League.
The Hoops also lost winger Liel Abada to injury in the first half on a night of disappointment at Celtic Park.
As well as the fine for the display against Shakhtar, Celtic were hit to the tune of a further £3,731 for pyro in the stands in their UCL opener against Real Madrid.
Meanwhile, Rangers were fined £12,284 for “improper conduct of the team” against Napoli on Sep 14.
Hearts were also punished for away fans throwing objects onto the pitch during their away match against RFS in Latvia on Sep 15, as they were fined £2,194.
